Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of trauma level 1 and cath lab experience, BLS and ARRT certifications required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Position is in an interventional radiology department of a trauma level 1 hospital
  • Five 8-hour day shifts per week, typically 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • No blocked scheduling permitted
  • May float to a nearby sister hospital as needed
  • Utilizes specialized imaging, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and PACS/RIS systems
  • Responsibilities include assisting radiologists with invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, preparing and administering contrast media, preparing patients, setting up equipment, and ensuring radiation safety
  • Performs PACS management, study indexing in RIS, clinical data review, QA procedures, and documentation for clinical and billing purposes
  • Online modules must be completed and passed onsite prior to start
  • Scrub attire required in the department
  • Must report to lab for drug screening within 24 hours of commitment; allow at least 2 weeks for onboarding screenings and document processing
  • All time off requests should be submitted upfront; requests after start require management approval
  • Travelers may provide training or support for new staff or students

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience as an IR Tech, with experience in trauma level 1 and cath lab settings
  • Active ARRT registration and BLS certification from the American Heart Association are required
  • Must hold an active Michigan license for consideration; license required if applicable
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Maintains required continued medical education hours
  • Additional ARRT specialization certifications (CI, VI, or CV) are highly preferred
  • COVID vaccination is mandatory
