Job Title: Handyman – New Home Construction & Warranty Service

Location: Greater Toronto Area, Ontario
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Site Supervisor / Warranty Service Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Handyman to join our residential construction team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the Tarion Warranty guidelines and the ability to perform a wide range of finishing, repair, and maintenance tasks on newly constructed homes. This role requires a proactive individual with hands-on construction skills, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship in accordance with Tarion standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform various finishing, touch-up, and repair tasks on new residential homes in compliance with Tarion Warranty requirements.
• Conduct pre-delivery, post-delivery, and warranty-related repairs including carpentry, drywall, painting, caulking, flooring, door and trim adjustments, and minor plumbing or electrical fixes.
• Diagnose issues reported by homeowners and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while working in occupied and unoccupied homes.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with small and medium-sized equipment or machinery operations when required (e.g., compactors, saws, compressors).
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, site supervisors, and the warranty team to ensure timely and accurate completion of service requests.
• Complete work orders, service reports, and documentation accurately and on time.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in residential construction, finishing carpentry, or home warranty service.
• Strong understanding of Tarion Warranty guidelines for new home construction in Ontario.
• Proficient with a wide range of construction tools and repair techniques .
• Ability to operate small and medium construction equipment safely (asset).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Education & Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade certification or technical training in carpentry, general construction, or building maintenance is an asset.
• WHMIS, Working at Heights, and other safety certifications preferred.

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly rate or salary based on experience.
• Vehicle and tool allowance (if applicable).
