Forklift Mechanics develop skills in the diagnosis and repair of Dayton Freight forklift components.

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services
• Support the tire maintenance program
• Perform service calls
• Wash and fuel equipment
• Perform other maintenance duties or assignments
• Provide assistance to senior technicians
• Lead the care and upkeep of the Maintenance Shop, grounds and all equipment and tools
• Maintain a clean, safe environment that complies with DOT, EPA, OSHA and Company standards
• Be proficient in paperwork and record keeping
• In conjunction with the Parts Department, assure that all necessary materials, parts, service/shop supplies are maintained at proper quantity levels
• Effectively handle special assignments as directed
• Able to maintain a quality hand tool inventory
• Skills to communicate professionally with operations and/or operators
• Able to participate at a high level of teamwork
