Key Purpose The
Facilities Manager/Cleaning is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day delivery of janitorial services in an airport. This role oversees a large, unionized workforce operating across a 24/7 public airport environment and ensures all services meet contractual requirements, safety standards, and client expectations.
The Facilities Manager/Cleaning leads with visibility, accountability, and operational discipline-balancing hands-on floor presence with administrative and financial oversight in a complex, high-traffic facility where service quality is immediately visible to the traveling public.

- Successful delivery of prioritized projects and programs
- In partnership with internal and external stakeholders, understand upcoming priorities and linking project delivery to the needs of the business
- Deployment of relevant projects following the global/local standards while having complete ownership of project roll out and completion

Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence - Lead janitorial operations for a 24/7 airport environment, overseeing 80+ employees across three shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd).
- Ensure a consistently high standard of cleanliness across interior and exterior airport spaces, covering approximately 1 million square feet.
- Maintain visible leadership presence through regular site walks, inspections, and engagement with frontline teams.
- Reinforce safety protocols, airport regulations, and ISS standards across all shifts.
- Manage daily and weekly staffing schedules, payroll inputs, and coverage adjustments.
- Oversee inventory management, equipment maintenance, and supply usage.
- Serve as primary liaison with union representatives; manage grievances and labor issues in compliance with collective bargaining agreements and applicable regulations.
- Conduct quality inspections, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare monthly billing reports and operational documentation.
- Manage full hiring lifecycle for janitorial roles (union and non-union) and serve as initial point of contact for HR-related matters.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with airport management, client representatives, and internal ISS leadership.
- Conduct performance reviews and coach direct reports.
- Directly manage floor care specialists, including restorative floor work, carpet care, and specialty maintenance programs. Evaluates performance of personnel and inspects assigned areas to ensure proper work performance. This requires hands-on support and ability to perform work when necessary. This may include, but is not limited to dust mopping, sweeping, stripping/refinishing, carpet scrubbing, servicing restrooms, window washing, etc
- Manage specialty subcontractors, ensuring scope alignment, safety compliance, quality execution, and accurate documentation.
- Serve as final authority for schedules, payroll approvals, monthly charges, inventory ordering, and service execution decisions.
- Be available to support operations during nights, weekends, holidays, and peak travel periods as needed.
Ideal Candidate Experience - 5+ years of facilities management experience, ideally in a supervisory role
- Bachelor's degree in Facility Management or related field preferred
- Strong supervisory background desirable not required, along with good customer service experience
- Strong computer proficiency skills with emphasis on knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Project, Power Point) and CMMS
- Excellent time management skills; able to organize and work independently; bilingual is a plus
- A valid driver's license may be required for this role (depending on account)
Key Accountabilities - Ensure delivery on contract promises
- Identify and leverage opportunities for improvement and best practice across the account working from the global/local concept toolbox
- Responsibility for innovation at account including deploying own resources in relevant Corporate Garage activities
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to identify and roll-out project support
- Engage in a wide network of Account Excellence Managers to ensure steady flow of best practice sharing
- Conducts periodic internal review to ensure that compliance procedures are followed
- Increase customer loyalty and satisfaction through service excellence
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed
Physical Demands & Work Environment - Long working hours
- Sitting at a computer for 50% of the time
- Walking/Inspecting the site 50% of the time
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds
- Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods

The annual salary range for this position is $105000 per year - $120000 per year Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
