Automotive General Sales Manager opportunity available in the Windham County, CT market. The General Sales Manager will be responsible to run all variable operations of the dealership. As the GSM, this person will be expected to be a hands-on leader that keeps their team motivated and on track for continued success. This a mid-sized dealership with further room for growth and good inventory in place!
The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a Sales Manager / GSM in a new car dealership and does business the right way to attract repeat business. Must be professional, articulate, and a positive leader. The GSM will be expected to roll up their sleeves and work the desk, get involved with the sales floor, interact with customers on a daily basis, and do whatever else is needed to ensure the dealership functions smoothly and customers have a positive experience. It is important that the GSM hired is a positive mentor to the team as the dealer does not believe in leading with an iron first, rather they believe in leading by example, coaching, mentoring, and having constructive 1:1s with employees. Moreover, it is important that this person is honest, trustworthy, and looking for a long-term opportunity with a dealer group where they can continue to grow and be part of something.
Responsibilities: • As the General Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the dealerships sales team
• The GSM is responsible for the management of the sales process, including appointments, negotiations, and closing sales
• Ensuring proper follow up of all prospective buyers by developing, implementing, and monitoring a CRM system
• Actively work to close / TO deals and work the desk
• Conducting daily and weekly sales and sales training meetings
• Coach sales team on proper closing techniques through training and active participation
• Maintain positive relationships with all customers, internal staff, and external vendors
• Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions
• Hire, motivate, and monitor the performance of all new/used vehicle sales employees
• Monitor and analyze salespeople's performance
• Work collaboratively with the stores department managers and general manager to establish sales and income related forecasts and meet/exceed those forecasts
• Establish delivery procedures and ensure delivery includes an introduction to the service department and scheduling of the first service appointment
• You will be expected to maintain an organized and clean work environment, foster excitement and enthusiasm while providing excellent customer service to our customers
Compensation: Compensation in the $145,000-$180,000 range depending on experience and performance, with true room for growth as volume grows. • Benefits package provided (health, dental, vision, life insurance etc.)
