Job Description

Primary Function:
Serve as Accounting Assistant to the Controller performing data analysis and accounting responsibilities. 

Essential Position Responsibilities:
• Key journal entries.
• Update monthly spreadsheets 
• Assist with monthly close process, including data entry.
• Expense and revenue account classifications.
• Cross-train and support accounting functions to include Billing, Accounts Payable, and Cash Receipts.
• Special projects as needed.
• Assist Controller as needed.
• Other duties as assigned to meet company needs.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Detail and deadline oriented.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Take ownership and pride in work.
Education and Experience:
• Intermediate knowledge and experience with Excel.
• Experience with accounting software and data entry.
• Familiarity with accounting rules and procedures including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Physical Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalence required
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
