The X-Ray technician is responsible for conducting the X-Ray testing procedures on castings to ensure the internal physical properties meet product specifications, under the direct supervision of the Quality Manager. Excellent opportunity to increase earnings through additional on-the-job certifications and skill development.
What you will be doing:
Conduct x-ray inspection of Investment Castings by selecting the type and class of x-ray film that is required for a given part.
Select the appropriate methods and technique for a specific inspection and determine which castings to x-ray on a percentage basis.
Interpret codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized.
Prepare and verify the adequacy of all procedures and techniques used to set up sample castings and conduct x-ray examination.
Set-up and operate industrial x-ray equipment.
Develop x-ray film in accordance with established procedures.
Analyzes and interprets company produced radiographs of parts and materials to detect and identify such unacceptable defects as cracks, blow holes, porosity, incomplete fusion, inclusions, segregation, cavities, under cuts, and draws.
Stamps or otherwise approves acceptable items; rejects unacceptable items based upon x-ray plate interpretation and customer specifications; and prepares necessary documentation indicating reason for rejection.
Records inspection results and similar information in a logbook as reference material.
Follow and maintain established quality standards for aftercast department.
Responsible for preparing, updating, and filing quality control folders for each casting and for filing associated departmental paperwork.
Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsible for departmental safety and housekeeping.
Performs related duties as assigned.
What you will bring to the team:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two-years related work experience
Certification programs in X-Ray technology, preferred.
