JOB SUMMARY:

Utah Hockey team, a brand-new NHL franchise, is seeking a dynamic and experienced TV play-by-play announcer to join our broadcast team.You'll be the voice that brings the excitement of the inaugural season to fans across the state of Utah.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver live, accurate, and enthusiastic play-by-play TV commentary for all home and away games, capturing the energy, and flow of the action on the ice.
  • Work closely with the broadcast team to prepare for games, including researching opponents, players, and storylines.
  • Introduce our players, coaches, and front office to a new fan base.
  • Teach the game without talking down to hockey fans.
  • Provide insightful analysis throughout the broadcast, keeping viewers informed, engaged and entertained.
  • Collaborate with the production team and color commentator to ensure a smooth and professional broadcast experience.
  • Represent the Utah team with professionalism and enthusiasm at promotional events and community outreach initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong social media presence, interacting with fans, and generating excitement for the team.
  • Contribute and collaborate on the team's social media and streaming content efforts.
  • Contribute to pre/intermission/post-game coverage by offering additional insights and analysis alongside studio analysts.
  • Attend and represent the team at press conferences and other team/media events, gathering information to generate content for broadcasts and streaming platforms.
  • Participate in promotional/sponsor activities and community events to build excitement for the team and connect with fans.
  • Travel with the team to road games.
  • Participate in content captures and other features for the franchise's streaming product.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in play-by-play announcing, preferably at the professional NHL level.
  • Extensive knowledge of hockey rules, strategies, and current NHL landscape.
  • A clear, articulate, and captivating voice with excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to think quickly and adapt to the fast pace of the game.
  • A passion for hockey and the ability to convey that passion to the audience.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of individuals.
  • Strong storyteller.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
