Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Psychiatric for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York.

• Short Description: SMH Level 1 RN Psych – Unit 3900

• Schedule: D/E/N rotating shifts; weekends/holidays/on - call/callback/charge per unit needs

   

• Job Duties:

  • Conducts intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history
  • Plans and provides nursing care for patients
  • Makes nursing diagnoses of medical and emotional status; recommends treatment options
  • Consults with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans
  • Administers and documents reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications
  • Arranges further medical attention when necessary
  • Assists clients in understanding emotional disturbances and accepting treatment
  • Maintains a safe and secure environment for staff and patients
  • Tests vital signs of pain and ensures treatments of pain
  • Documents all patient information on medical charts and follows physician orders
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Maintains accurate records of treatments, immunizations, and lab results
  • Performs administrative assignments: filing, answering phones, typing, completing progress notes in computer system
  • Provides courteous, high-quality service to patients and public; responds to service requests or makes referrals

   

• Requirements:
  • CPI Certification
  • NY RN License ONLY
  • BLS Certification (AHA ONLY)
  • Minimum 2 years experience
• Behavior Characteristics/Skills:
  • RN License (NY License ONLY) – Required
  • Two (2) Years Experience – Required
  • BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) – Required
  • CPI Blue Card – Required
• Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
