Senior Tool & Model Maker

Lincolnwood, IL

30-50p/h – depending on experience and education (Advanced)

• Basic - Experience Level 1-3 years
• Intermediate – Experience 5-10 years
• Advance – Experience 10-15 years

**Shifts: **1st shift or 2nd shift

• 1st shift: M-F 6:30am - 2:30pm
• 2nd shift: M-F 2:30pm – 11:30pm

We are seeking a skilled Tool Maker to join our team. The Tool Maker will be responsible for making and developing production tooling including stamping and forming dies, CNC machining fixtures, inspection gages, assembly tooling, and product test equipment or to make improvements to existing tooling.

Requirements :

• The ability to build and troubleshoot various types of tools including stamping/forming dies, molds, fixtures, gages, and assembly tooling.
• The ability to use and apply shop mathematics including geometry, trigonometry, and
• The ability to design and make your own small fixtures and jigs for machining operations.
• The ability to utilize Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.
• The ability to operate lathes, mills, grinders, saws, drill press etc.
• Ability to use measuring instruments.
• Understand the 5s principles.
• Ability to operate all standard Tool Room Equipment.
• Build and troubleshoot new tooling per design requirements

You should be proficient in:

• Equipment Troubleshooting
• Troubleshooting Skills
• Troubleshooting CNC Machines
• Blueprint Reading

Machines & technologies you'll use:

• CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Mazak, Okuma)
• EDM Machine (Sinker) (Mitsubishi, Sodick)
• EDM Machine (Wire) (Sodick, Mitsubishi)
• CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Okuma, Mazak)
• CAD Software
