Job Description
Qualifications: 2+ years documented work with children Degree or in the process of obtaining a degree in early childhood education, art education, STEM education, or related fields Must be 18 years of age or older Ability to work outside and be on your feet for extended periods, and lift 25+ pounds Available for at least 7 of 8 weeks of camp (running from June 16 to August 15 with the week of July 4th off) and staff training during the week of June 9-13 Child abuse, state police, and fingerprinting clearances required Responsibilities: Teach planned art activities and projects to groups of 18-20 campers at a time with the assistance of two assistant teachers Teach planned STEM activities and projects to groups of 18-20 campers at a time with the assistance of two assistant teachers Clean and maintain classroom space Organize, set up, and clean up materials for activities Communicate with Camp Director about materials to restock, activity plans, etc. Supervise children during transitions, playground time, museum play, and other specified times as needed Direct and supervise teen volunteers during activities Direct Assistant Teachers during activities as needed Attend weekly staff meetings Ensure safety policies are followed Other Information: Average workday: 7:30 am- 12:45 pm, Monday-Friday Rate: $16-18 an hour Seasonal, part-time hourly position Go to this link to apply: You can email your resume to megan.stoltzfus@handsonhouse.orgHands-on House Children's Museum of Lancaster is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working with children ages 2-10 and their families to learn through play.
