What You Will Do:

As the Product Manager for Johnson Controls Industrial Refrigeration, Heating and Data Center Cooling products, Frick and M&M Carnot branded, you will lead the overall growth, strategy and life cycle management of key industrial refrigeration (IR) products. IR is part of the fast-growing HVACR Business Unit of Global Products. With the tremendous push for sustainability and de-carbonization, you will drive the profitable growth of our natural refrigerant based highly sustainable products and help customers achieve their sustainability goals. It is an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced, high performing dynamic environment. You will be working and collaborating closely with customers and various internal stakeholders such as sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers. Since this position is for products sourced from various JCI factories within USA and Canada, it requires travel to/presence near the factories in Southeast PA, Eastern shore MD of the USA and Montreal/Quebec City Canada. Hybrid/remote may be considered based on candidate’s experience. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

How You Will Do It:

  • Be the product champion, leading the growth, strategy and product life cycle management for natural refrigerant (ammonia and CO2 trans-critical) compressor racks, packaged chillers and modular data center cooling products.

  • This requires strong customer engagement and close collaboration and accountability with key cross-functional constituents.

  • Maintaining and updating product roadmaps, product life cycle curves, setting engineering project priorities. Launching new products based on voice of customer, strategic pricing, market trends and regulations, delivering on key metrics such as on-growth, on-budget, on-time.

  • Developing product vision, business cases for new products or standardization of existing products, and supporting capital appropriation requests, as part of the long-range planning process.

  • Tracking product performance and driving appropriate actions based on actuals vs. plan.

  • Enabling sales and service through improved sales tools and literature. Work closely with engineering/application engineering for custom quotes.

  • Representing Johnson Controls in industry associations and events, working closely with marketing and government relations team, providing thought leadership.

What You We Look For

Requires

  • 5-8 years’ experience in product management of complex engineered-to-order HVAC-R equipment (Heating Ventilating Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration).

  • Technical understanding and practical application of natural refrigerant based compressors, compression packages, site-built systems, industrial chillers and heat pumps.

  • Understanding of product development (new product introduction) process and demonstrated execution from voice of customer to new product launch.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a highly matrix and diverse global team environment, with strong customer focus and engagement.

  • Interpersonal skills and proven strong collaboration with diverse cross functional teams.

  • Ability to travel (10% - 20%) domestic and internationally.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or marketing. or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 

  • Technical experience in Industrial Refrigeration systems with reciprocating and/or screw compressors, with natural refrigerants such as Ammonia and particularly CO2 and transcritical CO2.

  • Engagement with industry trade associations related to natural refrigerants and de-carbonization of cooling and heating.
