Job Description

What a Day Looks Like

At 7:00 AM, you walk the powder coating line, confirm start-up checks are complete, and greet a crew of 13–20 operators. You review the schedule in the ERP, align loading and masking priorities, and kick off production for high-spec metal components. Throughout the shift, you inspect finishes against customer paint-class standards, coach team members, and collaborate with production, quality, and management to keep orders moving. When challenges pop up, you troubleshoot guns, booths, conveyors, or workflow bottlenecks to minimize downtime. By 3:30 PM, the line is cleaned down, counts are reconciled, and shipments are packaged, labeled, and ready to meet customer specs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Direct the daily workflow for the powder coating department to hit safety, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate operators; reinforce safe work practices and standard procedures.
  • Verify proper line start-up and shutdown procedures are followed every day.
  • Oversee part loading/unloading; ensure masking and plugging are correct to blueprint and traveler.
  • Audit product finish against paint-class and customer requirements; drive corrective action when needed.
  • Coordinate with production control, quality, and leadership to maintain on-time performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to reduce scrap and downtime.
  • Confirm packaging, labeling, and inventory movements align with customer specifications.
  • Champion a zero-defect mindset; lead continuous improvement, Kaizen, and 5S activities.
  • Maintain a safe, organized area in line with OSHA and company policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift operation and familiarity with conveyor or batch-oven coating systems.

  • Pay: $31–$40/hr depending on experience (equivalent to $65K–$85K annualized).
  • Medical, dental, and vision starting day one; 401(k) with employer match after 90 days.
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and personal time within the first year.
  • Performance bonus eligibility after 3 months for quality and on-time delivery results.

Why You’ll Like It Here
