Overview: Our client, a major PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Services) entity owned by 20 non-profit health plans serving over 33 million members and benefits manager of government programs including Medicare and Medicaid, seeks an accomplished Pharmacy Technician .

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician (Work from Home)
Location: REMOTE (Candidate can be located anywhere in US)
Duration: 6 months+ temp-to-hire!!!

Pay Rate: $22/hr on W2
Schedule: 8 hours per day || Start time varies between 8am to 12:30pm || 5 days a week (Monday-Sunday) || No Graveyard Shift

Must-Have Requirements:

• State Board of Pharmacy license (REQUIRED)
• High-speed wired Internet connection (no Wi-Fi) with at least 150MBPS speed
• Reliable home-office environment

Job Description:
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for evaluating and authorizing approval of prior authorization pharmacy requests from prescribers received by telephone and/or fax using client criteria.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and authorize prior authorization requests.
• Follow established clinical criteria and procedures for approval.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Collaborate with team members and pharmacists to ensure compliance.
• Respond to escalated concerns calmly and professionally to prevent further escalation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2-4 years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• California State Pharmacy Technician Certification (REQUIRED).

Additional Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of specialty injectable prescription drugs, disease states, and formulary management.
• Understanding of medical terminology, diagnostic and reimbursement coding (J/Q codes, ICD-9, CMS 1500, etc.).
• Proficiency in pharmacy computerized systems, software applications, and MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Specialty or retail pharmacy industry experience.
• Previous reimbursement or health plan/health care setting experience.
