Job Description

Job Duties Pet Care SpecialistAs a Pet Care Specialist with Playtime Adventures, your responsibilities will include:Provide personalized care to dogs, cats, and other household pets through walks, drop-in visits, enrichment activities, and pet sitting. Care for cats and dogs of various breeds, ages, and temperamentsFollow detailed care instructions provided by pet parents, including feeding, medication, behavior protocols, and special requests.Walk dogs safely using appropriate handling techniques, harnesses, and leashesadjusting pace and activity based on the pets age, size, and energy level.Engage pets in enrichment-based play, such as scent games, training reinforcement, puzzle toys, and exploration.Monitor pets for signs of stress, illness, or injury and report observations to the company or client as appropriate.Write detailed, engaging visit reports after each visit, including highlights, photos, potty information, and any concerns.Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients and the Playtime Adventures team via app, email, or phone.Respect and maintain the safety, cleanliness, and privacy of each clients home during visits.Travel between client homes reliably and on time, adjusting to changing schedules or pet needs when necessary.Adhere to safety protocols, including leash policies, pet interaction guidelines, and emergency procedures.Maintain confidentiality and uphold a judgment-free, respectful attitude toward all clients and pets.Job Requirements Pet Care SpecialistTo be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:Must be 18 years of age or olderReliable transportation with a valid drivers license and auto insuranceAccess to a smartphone/ Android with a data plan, camera, and ability to use apps and emailAbility to walk 36 miles per day, including on uneven terrain, in all weather conditionsComfortable working with dogs and cats of various breeds, sizes, and temperamentsWilling to drive to Portsmouth, Newmarket, Durham and surrounding townsExcellent time management skills and the ability to work independentlyAvailability on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 AM- 3:30 PM, with flexibility for varying hours (inside of these hours)Must pass a background check and provide referencesCommitment to client confidentiality and respectful conduct in private homesPreferred (Not Required):Prior experience in pet care, animal behavior, veterinary care, or enrichmentWillingness to expand availability to other weekdays as routes growFamiliarity with enrichment techniques or positive reinforcement trainingExperience with senior pets, reactive dogs, or basic training principlesCompensation & Benefits:Workers compensationPaid lunch breaks and commute timePaid time offPaid training & certification opportunitiesFlexible scheduling Opportunity for advancement and raisesWork IndependentlyBonusesEmployee discountPaid holidaysWork Environment:This role involves working outdoors in all seasons, entering clients homes, and handling animals with varying temperaments.
