Patient Care Technician – San Antonio, TX

I am supporting a leading clinical research organization in the recruitment of a Patient Care Technician for their site in San Antonio. This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with clinical trial participants and contribute to the advancement of life-changing therapies.

The Role

As a Patient Care Technician, you will:

• Monitor and support clinical trial participants during their stay on the unit.
• Perform clinical procedures such as vital signs, blood collection/processing, ECGs, and lab tests as delegated.
• Prepare specimen tubes, operate centrifuges, store and ship lab samples, and coordinate with couriers.
• Serve meals, provide daily necessities, and engage with participants to ensure their well-being.
• Maintain accurate documentation, follow protocols, and comply with GCP, ICH, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment for staff and participants.

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
• CPR certification required; national phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines and basic medical terminology.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, centrifugation, ECGs, and specimen handling.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work both independently and in a team.

Working Environment

• Mix of office and clinical settings in San Antonio, TX.
• Involves standing, walking, and lifting (up to 30 lbs).
• Contact with biological samples and clinical areas is part of the role.
