Job Description

1099 Contract -- Ophthalmologist or Optometrist

We are seeking to contract an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist in Augusta, GA.  to help ensure our service members get the best care possible. You will play a vital role in the continued care of these men and women, all while growing your current practice.

Your Role at Jamshid Tamiry, M.D., P.C., dba QTC Medical Group of Alaska:

As a contracted Ophthalmologist or Optometrist with Jamshid Tamiry, M.D., P.C., doing business as QTC Medical Group of Alaska, an affiliate of Leidos QTC Health Service, you will be responsible for performing a range of duties including:

  1. Performing examinations
  2. Interpreting clinical data
  3. Completing written reports and generating independent medical opinions (IMO)

The examinations must be conducted utilizing the Kinetic Perimetry VFT Equipment Compatibility Chart.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct exams for a variety of customers to include federal, defense and others.
  • Complete independent medical opinions regarding eye conditions.
  • Perimetry requirements: Results must chart 16 meridians, 22.5 degrees apart for each eye and indicate the Goldman equivalent used.
  • Diagnostic testing

Required Qualifications:

  • Education :
    • Ophthalmologist (M.D.) or Optometrist (O.D.) from an accredited university or college
    • Completed Education and training in an US accredited college or university 
  • Experience : Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience as an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist
  • Certification : Unrestricted State medical licensure without limitations to perform full scope of authorized practice
  • Clearance :
    • Ability to pass a medical clearance
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain government clearances (LARS, Public Trust, NACI, BGI, etc.) as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting occupational/disability medical examinations

Work Schedule and Compensation:

  • Flexible Schedule: Appointments are typically scheduled approximately 5 to 7 days of notification. You set the pace and frequency!
  • Location: Augusta, GA.
  • Compensation: Compensation will be provided for each examination, with payment determined based on the specific requirements and type of examination performed.

Additional Information:

  • Provider must complete required online training courses, up to 9 courses at approx. 12.5 hours total.
  • Leidos QTC Health Services will run a 7-year criminal history and sex offender background check.
  • Once the BGI and credentialing have been completed, the Provider will be required to obtain CPEP Certification (approx.17 hours/depending on specialty)
  • You will be given access to the Provider Liaison (PL) department; this department assists with any issues, questions, or needs you may have while contracted with Leidos QTC Health Services.
