The Nonprofit Technical Assistance VISTA will enhance regional nonprofits' capacity by identifying barriers, connecting them to essential resources, and addressing gaps. Working with the Strategic Response Team and technical assistance workgroup, the VISTA will assess ongoing needs, compile a resource database, and support communications to engage stakeholders. This role includes planning and executing capacity-building workshops and events, collaborating with experts to deliver relevant training, and partnering with the United Way Project Equity team to develop strategic next steps for the initiative. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a commitment to social equity, and experience in nonprofit work or event planning. Responsibilities

  • Work with the Volunteer Center and its partners to identify ongoing nonprofit capacity-building needs.
  • Support communications efforts to share capacity-building resources, market offerings and engage stakeholders.
  • Creating a plan to increase corporate engagement opportunities among nonprofits within the Lehigh Valley.
  • Deliver and/or support capacity-building workshops, trainings, and events (virtual or in-person)
  • Work with the Volunteer Center on developing a regional capacity-building infrastructure, including an approach to resource sharing.
Requirements
Able to commit to a volunteer service term with AmeriCorps VISTA.
At least 18 years old
Have a HS diploma or G.E.D.
Able to secure clearances to work with vulnerable populations (Act 153).
Able to report in person for work in Lehigh, Northampton or Carbon counties.
