Job Description

News Anchor (Finance) Department : Houston Public Media Salary : $65,300 - $83,300 Description : Produces and anchors live, local news segments, including anchoring live extended coverage of breaking news as well as locally produced shows. Job Duties:

1. Provide aesthetic and creative direction for live public media programs.
2. Develop and execute ideas into engaging program content.
3. Deliver on-air hosting with professional broadcast standards, aligned with NPR guidelines.
4. Serve as the local voice of news programming.
5. Operate station broadcast and production equipment professionally, adhering to NPR standards.
6. Promote the station's public image through community outreach events.
7. Participate in station fundraising campaigns and special events.
8. Conduct live and recorded interviews, generate story ideas, and assemble news reports.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

• A thorough understanding of analytical, technical, or professional disciplines, typically acquired through a 4-year degree or equivalent specialized training.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
