Salary: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 Annually Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, Binghamton, NY, seeks a highly skilled musician for the half-time position of Music Director to oversee an established and outstanding traditional music program at a medium-sized parish committed to excellence in music and liturgy. The candidate should have earned a degree in music (organ and/or choral conducting), possess experience in a church and/or academic setting, and have the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds. Responsibilities Direct the total music program with support from the music committee and approval of the rector. Provide organ music for Sunday services and seasonal services. Prepare the choir to sing service music, hymns, and anthems. Prepare the bell choir for music presentation at occasional Sunday services and holidays. Supervise the selection and preparation of solos and other instrumental and vocal music for special occasions, holidays, and summer coverage. Prepare introductions, alternate harmonizations, and descants for hymns. Provide music for funerals and weddings as requested, at an additional fee. Supervise the maintenance of all musical instruments. Maintain and expand the music library. Write musical notes for Trinity’s newsletter, the Trinity Times .
