Materials Manager | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $86,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for optimizing inventory levels to ensure material availability and minimize carrying costs.
• Oversee the planning, scheduling, and procurement of raw materials and components to meet production requirements.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, and contracts to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
• Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems, including cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, sales, and engineering to align material flow with manufacturing schedules and new product development.
• Analyze material usage, forecasts, and market trends to drive continuous improvement in supply chain efficiency and cost reduction initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the materials planning and warehouse operations teams.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in ERP/MRP systems and advanced proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, demand forecasting, and production planning methodologies.
• Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and cross-functional communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
• Proficiency in advanced data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience with global supply chain management and international logistics.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
