Job Description

Our client located in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Mainframe Developer to join their team. As a Mainframe Developer, you will be part of the IT department supporting multiple engineering teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title : Mainframe Developer

Location:  Charlotte, North Carolina

Pay Range: $55.00-$59.00/hr

What's the Job?

• Develop, maintain, and optimize mainframe applications supporting transaction processing.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams across 16 scrum teams in an Agile environment.
• Support the integration of AI tooling for user story refinement and API-level workflows.
• Ensure the stability and scalability of critical mainframe applications that support business operations.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives by leveraging mainframe technologies and AI concepts.

What's Needed?

• Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and Endeavor.
• Experience with tools and methodologies like Jira, Confluence, and Agile practices.
• Strong conceptual understanding of Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and related tooling.
• Awareness of platforms such as Gemini, GPT, Claude, etc.
• Ability to understand and support AI workflows through API structures, with conceptual fluency (hands-on experience preferred but not mandatory).
