Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to join our outstanding team at RIAO. Under the direct supervision of a physician, the Lead Medical Assistant performs a range of clinical duties to assist in the examination and treatment of patients. This includes applying orthopedic equipment, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth day-to-day clinical operations.

The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care that aligns with LifeBridge Health’s standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply and adjust casts, splints, and braces; fabricate custom casts using plaster, fiberglass resin, or polyethylene.
  • Utilize orthopedic equipment such as cutters, spreaders, bending irons, simmer frames, traction carts, fracture tables, and Stryker frames.
  • Assist physicians in the operating room with casting and orthopedic procedures.
  • Set up and manage traction units and specialized orthopedic devices.
  • Inspect, apply, and remove braces, bandages, sutures, and staples as directed by the physician.
  • Provide care appropriate to the age and needs of each patient.
  • Support hospital and departmental functions, ensuring alignment with customer service and operational standards.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) – Preferred
