What You’ll Do

As a Junior Varsity Girl's Basketball Assistant Coach at Veritas Prep for the 2025-2026 school year, you will play a pivotal role in the development and success of our athletic program. Your contributions will focus on enhancing the skills of student-athletes while promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

You’ll also:

• Work closely with the Head Coach to design and implement effective training sessions and game strategies.
• Provide individualized coaching to players, focusing on skill development and game intelligence.
• Encourage a positive atmosphere that fosters teamwork and mutual respect among athletes.
• Help monitor student-athletes’ academic progress and maintain eligibility for participation.
• Assist in organizing logistics for practices, games, and tournaments.
• Support the Head Coach during games, including strategy execution and player management.
• Engage with parents and guardians to foster a supportive community around our basketball program.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance coaching skills and tactics.
• Model and reinforce standards of sportsmanship and ethical behavior.

Requirements

What You’ll Need

• Previous experience in basketball, either as a player or coach, is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, techniques, and rules.
• A passion for youth development and a commitment to player safety and well-being.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to inspire and motivate young athletes to achieve their best.
• A dedication to promoting equity and inclusion within the sports program.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States prior to beginning the position.

Benefits

COMPENSATION: Intramural athletic coaching stipends are dependent on length of season, practice schedule, etc.

Students can earn up to an associate degree for free, and the general studies associate degree from STCC means students enter as JUNIORS at any Massachusetts public college or university after high school graduation.
