General Summary:
As an Inventory & Reconditioning Specialist, you will work under general supervision to maintain vehicle zones, manage vehicle receiving and shipping, perform inventory scanning, and ensure lot cleanliness. You will also drive vehicles on and off the lot and deliver outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute defined processes following work instructions and standardized work.
  • Collaborate with the team on problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in training new associates under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain daily cleanliness and security of display areas and work zones.
  • Receive and secure vehicles shipped to CarMax.
  • Prepare vehicle and title packets for shipping to other locations.
  • Accurately scan vehicles to maintain correct product status.
  • Conduct washing and vacuuming of customer returns and loaner vehicles.
  • Execute the front-lot wash.
  • Manage the Photo Station process efficiently.
  • Operate vehicles for repairs and storage as needed.
  • Support auction operations as required.
  • Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization in alignment with CarMax 5S standards.
  • Complete tasks assigned by Warehouse Managers.

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires:

  • A valid driver's license that meets CarMax DSEPS standards.
  • The ability to read, interpret, and accurately document data.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Ability to execute processes according to set work instructions and standards.
  • Capability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:
Employees work in both indoor and outdoor settings and may experience noisy or inclement weather. Flexibility is needed for shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Extended periods of walking or standing may be required in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. CarMax clothing is to be worn at all times while working. Compliance with CarMax, OSHA, and EPA standards is mandatory, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment and proper waste disposal.
