ROLE
We are seeking a Front Desk/Data Entry Specialist to support the 66th Force Support Squadron (66 FSS), Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts. You will serve as the first point of contact for clients and visitors, while coordinating front desk operations and managing data entry into key Air Force systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide reception services for M&FRC visitors and deliver customer service and administrative support as needed
Enter data into the Air Force Family Integrated Results and Statistical Tracking (AFFIRST) system and the Department of Defense (DoD) Transition Assistance Program (TAP) system using web-based tools
Receive telephone calls and visitors, determine the nature of each inquiry, and direct clients to the appropriate staff
Promote M&FRC programs and services during client interactions when opportunities arise
Schedule clients for M&FRC classes and offer clear information on routine or procedural matters
Input TAP data into AFFIRST per program manager guidance (e.g., workshop scheduling and automated reminder emails)
Maintain the front desk area by aligning materials, publications, and chairs daily
Report equipment issues to management
Ensure client sign-in compliance and compile a monthly client usage report in the format designated by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge and capability to operate data entry device(s) to input lists, records, etc., into an electronic format
Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required
Skilled in navigating and troubleshooting within Microsoft Windows and web-based tools required
Ability to provide professional and courteous customer service required
Ability to communicate clearly with clients in person, by phone, and by email required
Knowledge of customer service practices required
Knowledge of basic military protocol and support group structures preferred
Knowledge of family systems in a military setting preferred
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds required
Ability to communicate in a respectful and culturally aware manner required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
~1 year of customer service experience in a professional environment
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience working in a military, veteran, or family support service environment?
Some experience in a similar or equivalent type of position
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Undergraduate Degree preferred

Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 100% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time.
