WZTV/WUXP/WNAB (FOX 17 NEWS) has an immediate opening for a director of digital content to oversee news content for overall fairness and accuracy. The ideal candidate will lead a digital team and oversee production of all digital portals. You will work closely with digital content producers, newscast producers, anchors, and reporters on daily story selection and news coverage and enforce strategies as outlined by the news director. As a newsroom leader, the expectation is that the Executive Producer will lead by example. A successful candidate must show a strong commitment to journalism with skills beyond just employing successful SEO practices to help us grow a news audience in the digital sphere. This is not a clickbait operation. The Digital EP needs to be able to align story production with audience needs to attract and retain digital users. Some additional responsibilities of our Executive Producer will include: Oversee all digital portals to ensure we are serving our local communities by sharing relevant information to alert, empower, and protect our audiences Supervise all content producers and reporters, as well as, review scripts, provide feedback to encourage powerful storytelling appropriate to each digital platform Plan and oversee continuity in all dayparts for digital portals Show strong commitment to using analytics to guide coverage direction Embrace new technology to aid newsroom in growing digital platforms Enforce digital deadlines Manage news room and handle breaking news situations to empower and grow our audiences Collaborate with New Directors and other station managers to create special segments Collaborate with the station sales department on sales initiatives with digital components Lead breaking news and breaking weather with exemplary digital coverage that may stretch beyond scheduled hours What skills do you need to be successful in our role? Proven track record of creating compelling and engaging stories across multiple platforms Ability to perform well under pressure, experience managing breaking news and meeting strict deadlines Ability to identity problems and provide solutions A strong commitment to journalistic standards and ethics Extraordinary people skills with an emphasis on coaching and motivating Strong understanding of how to drive digital traffic Minimum of 3 years experience producing in a television news environment or equivalent A college degree in Journalism or a related field is preferred Strong writing skills and a proven track record for getting results on initiatives EEO AND INCLUSIVITY: Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
