Job Overview The Men’s & Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country program at the University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Director of Operations/Assistant to the Head Coach (Sports Program Associate). This is a full-time position, salaried, with a comprehensive benefits package. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach with the administration of a highly competitive Division I Track & Field program in the Big 12 conference. Responsibilities include but are not limited to organizing team events, coordinating all aspects of team travel, processing expense reports, tracking/reporting budget, distributing per diem, assisting with home meet management, assisting in on and off campus recruiting activities, overseeing interns and team managers, assisting the head coach with practice organization and management, and assist with coaching duties as needed. Essential Functions Responsible for all aspects of any of the following functions within a sport program: Business Operations (direct the operational and logistics function of the program). Administrative Associate (provide direct administrative support and coordination to the coaching staff and support personnel). Identify program needs and implement program improvements. Collaborate with staff to perform administrative tasks in line with program and departmental goals. Serve as ambassador of the program and look for opportunities to connect the program to the community and business partners. Will be required to drive a university vehicle and/or student-athletes. Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Bachelor’s Degree. Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Trainings/Certifications Must be able to pass and maintain NCAA recruiting certification if required by sport program. Valid driver’s license. Required Experience Previous experience as a coach or collegiate player or work in an athletic department setting. Additional Qualifications Considered The position requires some evenings, weekends, and travel with teams. Ability to effectively communicate to student-athletes, athletic support staff, parents, and coaches. Ability to work independently on multiple assignments. Ability to organize and manage team events and team travel. Must demonstrate integrity, leadership and a strong commitment to the program.
