Job Description
The Director, Information Systems is responsible for leading the strategic development, implementation, and optimization of enterprise systems and data platforms at Plymouth Tube. This role ensures that core technologies-including ERP, CRM, MES, and business intelligence tools-are aligned with business objectives, scalable for future growth, and secure. The position requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in ERP systems (particularly Epicor Kinetic), systems integration, and cross-functional collaboration. Partnering closely with the Director of IT Operations, finance, and plant leadership, this role plays a critical part in ensuring that technology solutions effectively support and enhance operational performance.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as a strategic liaison between IT Systems and business stakeholders to translate operational needs into effective system solutions. Collaborate with leaders in finance, operations, and sales to ensure enterprise tools enhance productivity and performance.
- Team Leadership & Vendor Management: Lead and develop internal IT systems staff and manage external consultants. Oversee vendor relationships, licensing, and support agreements to ensure optimal performance and value. Partner with the Director of IT Operations to maintain secure and resilient systems infrastructure.
- Data, Reporting & Business Intelligence: Champion the use of centralized, trusted reporting platforms such as Epicor, SSRS, and future BI tools. Drive data integrity, improve reporting quality, and foster a data-literate culture to support informed decision-making.
- Change Management & User Enablement: Lead change management initiatives, user training programs, and documentation efforts to support system adoption. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration around technology.
Core Responsibilities
- Enterprise Systems Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute the vision and roadmap for enterprise systems including ERP, MES, CRM, and reporting platforms. Align system capabilities with strategic business goals through collaboration with executive leadership and IT Operations.
- ERP & Manufacturing Systems Oversight: Oversee the deployment, optimization, and support of Epicor Kinetic across corporate and plant locations. Lead MES platform evaluation and integration, ensuring seamless data flow and automation across the enterprise

QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, IT, Business, or related field required.
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise systems leadership, ideally within manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience implementing and optimizing ERP systems (Epicor Kinetic strongly preferred).
- Experience with MES & CRM platforms, data integration, and business process improvement initiatives.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team-building abilities; experience in managing cross-functional teams.
