Job Description
GCU seeks a dynamic, forward thinking, and proven Director of Continuing Professional Education.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Professional Studies and Business Development, the Director of Continuing Professional Education will be responsible for developing and maintaining the daily operations for all Non-Credit, In-Demand Professional Certifications, and Contract Training units within the Center for Professional Education. Responsible for identifying and securing alternative revenue streams, this position will be a member of the Professional Studies and Business Development leadership team.
The Director manages all aspects of new business development and retention – including securing commitments for non-traditional education, professional development programs, and donor relations in support of the CPS Lifelong Learning Scholarship fund(s) – marketing and attracting new customers within our individual course catalog, professional certificates, for-credit certification programs, the CPSx programs, and the CEU provider programs.
Key success factors include developing, managing, and sustaining a robust portfolio of corporate training prospects and clients, including extensive engagement with local, state, and national chambers of commerce – and other affiliated business organizations, alliances, or agencies.
The Director is a seasoned, dynamic and forward-thinking higher education professional, who will work collaboratively with campus-wide student support and academic units (e.g. Mission, Alumni Engagement, Advancement, Business Office, Student Financial Services, Registrar, as well as Deans and other academic leaders across all GCU units) to support the needs of non-traditional students, as well as external organizations.
The position will also assist with a variety of ad-hoc projects and assignments - as needed in a fast-paced work environment. University service through committee and workgroup participation is expected with moderate to heavy local travel.
GCU prides itself on being a welcoming college community for all. The college seeks a wide range of applicants for its positions so that inclusive excellence will be affirmed.
