Strategically located in the Port of New Haven, our terminal provides turnkey, vertically integrated logistics services for dry bulk, liquid bulk, and breakbulk products. Terminal History: In 2018 Enstructure acquired Gateway Terminal, a bulk terminals and logistics company. This acquisition expanded the Enstructure’s capabilities and footprint, comprised of 22 terminals strategically located near major population hubs along the East Coast, Gulf Coast, and Inland River system. Enstructure provides full-service and reliable logistics solutions to some of the world’s largest companies in the energy, agriculture, food, manufacturing, construction, and public safety sectors.

Job Title: Diesel Truck Mechanic

Company: Gateway

Location: New Haven, CT

Summary of Position:
Supports operations by installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment. Identifies sources of problems through inspection and observation, and completes necessary repairs promptly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and Diagnose: Perform diagnostics to determine issues with equipment and execute necessary repairs.
• Mechanical Repairs: Conduct mechanical repairs as needed to ensure equipment functionality.
• Sanitation and Housekeeping: Maintain an organized and clean work area.
• Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work overtime during the week or on weekends.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Resourceful, well-organized, and dependable.

Competencies:

• Verbal Comprehension: Understand both general and technical oral and written communications.
• Communication Skills: Provide clear instructions and directions.
• Reasoning Skills: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Time Management: Values time and manages it effectively, prioritizing tasks and managing a broad range of activities.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Physical Ability: Must have the ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ pounds, climb heavy equipment safely, bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for prolonged periods.
• Technical Skills: A technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs.
• Equipment Knowledge: Good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions.
• Diagnostic Skills: Strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Quality Repairs: Ability to provide quality, efficient repairs within acceptable time standards.
• Compliance: Follow all instructions from the manager/supervisor and working foreman.
• Driver's License: Must have a valid driver’s license.
• TWIC Card: Must have a valid TWIC card or the ability to obtain one.

Additional Pluses:

• Technical Certification: A technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs.
• CDL/HAZ Endorsement: Possession of a CDL/HAZ endorsement is a plus.

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
