The Roofing Superintendent will oversee all phases of a Roofing construction project and report to the Operations Manager. The Roofing Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing a team of foremen, roofers, and laborers to deliver exceptional quality and customer service to our clients. The Roofing Superintendent will be working closely with the Project Managers to meet contractual requirements leading to profitable and successful projects.

Job Summary

Engage with customers to answer questions and provide explanations, discuss any outstanding issues with customers and other parties. Participate in regular review meetings with project manager. Provides leadership to foreman – fostering safety, teamwork and discipline resulting in efficient and professional roof system installation. Represents the company in a professional manner in all dealings with customers, personnel and the public.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Approves timecards and requests for time off.

· Prepares work schedules and assignments.

· Communicates and enforces safety procedures and site rules.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage all aspects of production.
• Review plans and sites, delegate crews and do all pre-job planning including but not limited to creating site-specific safety plans and work plan efficiencies.
• Ensure crews have information and instructions necessary to complete jobs.
• Submit reports and paperwork and otherwise coordinate communication between office and job sites.
• Supervise foremen to lead safe and efficient roof system installations.
• Visit job sites to ensure the project is progressing properly.
• Assist in continually training field crews in safety, work skills and efficiency.
• Maintain understanding of contract information for jobs.
• Track labor hours and production against stated goals.
• Schedule materials, equipment and deliveries.
• Monitor material usage, minimize waste, anticipate shortages and order materials as needed.
• Monitor quality of installations.
• Demonstrate willingness to be a team player.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must be safety focused.

· Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must have excellent organization and leadership skills.
• Must have expertise skills in commercial roofing.

· Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand project drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work on a team and interact with people.
• Must be able to multi-task and have the ability to follow up on projects both internally and externally.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to meet the company driver qualification policy.

· Ability to work under pressure.

· Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.

· Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.

· Thorough understanding of quality building practices.

· Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.

 

Education and Experience:

• At least 10 to 15 years of experience in commercial roofing required.

 

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
