Job Description
Under the general direction of the President the Estimator/PM at CityScape Roofing will prepare estimates for commercial roofing work. It is the responsibility of the Estimator/PM to synthesize estimates into the appropriate format for each bid. It is essential that Estimators understand and follow all safety policies of CityScape Roofing and Bulldog Group, Inc., by ensuring that they understand the logistics and how the policies will affect each individual job they bid.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties: - Independently search for appropriate projects to bid;
- Enforce CityScape Roofing policies, procedures and performance standards within the boundaries of applicable federal laws, state laws, and corporate policy from Bulldog Group, Inc.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for commercial roofing projects.
- Communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates; ensure change orders are received prior to work being done.
- Submit 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline-no exceptions;
- Solicit and maintain communication with vendors (and on occasion subcontractors);
- Review bid requirements thoroughly and ask necessary follow-up questions;
- Assist in winning profitable repeat business by cultivating customer relationships during management of projects;
- Have or obtain a thorough understanding of the scope for each specific job that is bid and if the project is won, communicate this understanding to Project Managers and/or Superintendents;
- Plan the potential layout and job setup and try to predict any problems that may be encountered to ensure they are accounted for in the estimate.
Education, Knowledge, and Skills: - Must have commercial roofing estimating and project management experience.
- Estimators must possess a valid driver's license.
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other Microsoft apps.
- High School Diploma or GED required, Associates Degree preferred.
- Previous construction estimating experience required, preferably commercial roofing.
- Thorough understanding of commercial roofing system design and installation, code compliance, and manufacturers requirements for warranty.
- Must have the ability to accurately follow instructions given by their supervisors as well as follow written instructions and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills and negotiation skills are imperative in this position.
- Estimators must have the ability to safely ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and/or stairs on an occasional basis.
- The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
- A motor vehicle report will be run annually.
Compensation and Benefit Information: - Competitive salary ($80,000-$90,000), dependent upon experience
