Front Desk Medical Receptionist / Certified Medical Assistant

Austintown Pediatrics, a trusted and privately owned pediatric practice, is seeking a professional and experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our front desk team. This is a full-time position, scheduled 4-5 days per week. Only applicants with a current MA Certification will be considered.

Schedule & Hours:
  • Monday-Friday.
  • 7:45 am - 5:30 pm.
  • 7:45 am - 4:30 pm in the summer.
  • Enjoy true work-life balance with no evenings or weekends required.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Experience working with pediatric demographic.
  • Experience using EMR systems.
  • Experience using Office Practicum EMR system is a plus.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging demeanor.
  • Maintain respectful, professional behavior.
  • Ability to undertake and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to receive training, instruction, and correction.

  • Successful completion of MA certification program is required.

  • Willingness to rotate opening and closing tasks with fellow staff members.
  • Willingness to fill in for fellow staff members as needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with families to provide results, instructions, and advice.
  • Relay information to practitioners in a timely manner.
  • Patient check in/check out.
  • Answering phone calls.
  • Scheduling and sending messages to providers as needed.
  • Entering patient demographics.
  • Maintain and update patient health records.
  • Collect copays.
  • Complete patient forms, referrals, and appointment tasks.
  • Pull patient forms for next business day.
  • Complete appointment reminders.
  • Scan forms into charts.
  • Referrals and prior authorizations.
  • Communicate with hospitals, specialty departments and other provider offices for patient related information.
  • Prepare medical records as needed.
  • Checking faxes throughout the day.

Pay: MA $16.50-$17.50.
