CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Our client, a professional services firm in the Chicago area, is seeking an experienced strategic financial leader who is adept at both strategy and managing details. Key characteristics include strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, a strong work ethic with integrity, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate must be a team player who believes that no task is too big or too small. How You'll Contribute Oversees the accounting department for the firm Oversees all financial and managerial reports for the CEO and leadership team Manages treasury and banking relationships Responsible for daily cash management Works with leadership on contractual issues Bridges strategic and operational decision-making with analytics Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements Manages statutory reporting alongside outside consultants and leadership Coordinates with external accounting firms on audits, reviews, and tax filings Acts as primary fiduciary for 401k plans Oversees outsourced IT firm Maintains database integrity and firm documents Supervises, leads, and mentors the finance team Experience and Skills Who You Are Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA preferred 5+ years in a controller or senior finance role, managing teams Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting Experience with S-corp structures and tax reporting Proficiency with information technology Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Leadership and coaching abilities Detail-oriented yet strategic Self-motivated and autonomous High ethical standards Willing to work onsite in North Suburban offices Additional Information Salary range: $225,000 - $250,000 annually plus benefits, determined based on experience and qualifications.
