Alexander Rose International are working closely with one of the Southeast’s premier general contractors in the civil construction industry. Our client is a well-established company known for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, and utilities. As part of their continued growth and commitment to excellence, they are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their leadership team in Atlanta, GA.

Position Overview:

The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring fiscal responsibility, managing risk, and providing insights that shape strategic decisions. This individual will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to drive operational excellence and maximize profitability across multiple ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities
• Oversee accounting, project finance, and compliance functions
• Provide financial insight into operational efficiency and project performance
• Work with project managers and estimators to ensure accurate job costing and resource allocation
• Manage relationships with banks, bonding agents, auditors, and external partners
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
• Play a key role in M&A evaluations and growth strategy initiatives
• Develop and mentor the finance/accounting team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership, with at least 5 years in construction (civil or heavy civil strongly preferred)
• Deep understanding of WIP reporting, job costing, cash flow, and bonding requirements
• Experience with construction-specific accounting systems (e.g., Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar)
• Proven track record of strategic financial leadership in a high-growth environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence executive decisions
