Kilauea Market + Café is a grocery store and casual dining establishment! We offer the North Shore of Kauai a full-service grocery store and café that includes a coffee bar, beer and wine bar, fresh prepared foods, made-to-order specialties and an indoor and outdoor dining area.
Here is a list of our Cafe roles you may be considered for:
* Prep Cook - starting at $16.75
* Line Cook – starting at $18.50
* Kitchen Manager – starting at $24.00
* We have AM shifts between the hours of 7am-4pm. _**cafe is open between 8am-3:30pm_
*Desired Work Experience*
* Prior cooking experience is preferred, not required.
* Customer service experience is a plus
* Kitchen Management experience required for management role.
*Qualifications*
* Must be at least 18 years or older
* High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Must comply with all company policies and requirements.
* Must possess a valid TB Clearance or willing and able to obtain one prior to employment.
*Responsibilities & Abilities (Cooks)*
* Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
* Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
* Ensure that all items are to spec, dated appropriately, packed, sealed, and labeled correctly.
* Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
* Maintain individual prep sheets daily.
* Comply fully with all safety policies and procedures.
* Assist in keeping all sales and storage areas clean, clear and in good order at the end of the shift.
*Responsibilities & Abilities (Manager)*
* Conduct hands-on teaching and training in kitchen, working closely with cooks, as well as other staff as applicable and assist with food preparation, operation, and execution.
* Train and educate BOH staff on new menu items and changes in procedures for current menu items; monitor and hold staff accountable for implementing the changes.
* Responsible for proper ordering and inventory control. Ensure appropriate use of supplies.
* Hire, coach, train, counsel, and conduct performance evaluations of direct reports.
* Oversee daily production and offer guidance while keeping employees on track and efficient.
* Motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance; bring out their strong points and help work through their weaknesses.
*Physical Requirements*
* Must be able to frequently lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds. _Dependent on position_
* Must be able to frequently bend, twist, and squat
* Ability to work in various temperature environments, including but not limited to wet, cold, dry, hot

All non-worked hours including but not limited to PTO (Sick/Vacation), non-worked Holidays, and Worker's Compensation are not calculated with the premium pay advertised, but the base pay rate offered during the offer/onboarding stage. _
