Position: Business Consultant
Department: 3300 - Outside Sales
Reports to: Regional Sales Manager
Travel: Up to 50%
FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt
Position Summary:
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities via networking, channel partners, and self-generated leads.
• Execute aggressive prospecting strategies to engage key decision makers.
• Manage the entire sales cycle including post-sale and implementation.
• Negotiate pricing and service scope, complete sales paperwork, and finalize client agreements.
• Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecast.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets assigned by leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Proactively generate new business within assigned territory.
• Continuously expand knowledge of industry trends, products, services, and broker practices.
• Analyze, plan, and implement tailored products and services to meet client needs.
• Monitor competitors and assess competitive threats.
• Ensure accurate and timely service delivery to clients.
• Conduct regular client meetings during implementation to address questions or concerns.
• Collect and analyze data for strategic guidance on products, services, marketing, and sales.
• Prepare clear and impactful executive summaries for client presentations.
• Develop lead generation strategies and use CRM (Salesforce) effectively.
• Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas.
• Submit new business paperwork, expense reports, and weekly activity reports on time.
• Participate in monthly consulting meetings and provide training/coaching to team members.
• Frequent domestic travel required for client visits, meetings, events, and training (including air, ground, and public transportation).
Marginal Functions:
• Build and maintain relationships with team members across disciplines to coordinate client services.
• Attend webinars and training to stay current with best practices.
• Complete projects and other duties as assigned.

• Strong knowledge of sales methodologies and best practices.

Required Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years sales experience preferred.
• Experience with CRM software (Salesforce or similar) preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to learn other applications.
• Valid, non-restrictive driver’s license required due to travel demands.
Licenses/Certifications: None required.

• Frequent travel including walking and occasional lifting of light items.
• High concentration for strategic sales planning and decision-making.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking under deadlines.
• Ability to manage stress effectively during client interactions.
• Excellent interpersonal, cultural sensitivity, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Environmental Conditions:
• Primarily indoor office environment with occasional moderate noise.
• Work includes client offices, conferences, events, and training, requiring adaptability to different settings.
