A Brief Overview

\n

Provides a continuum of Audiology services that include the prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation and treatment of patients with hearing or communication impairments. May provide diagnostic newborn auditory brainstem evaluation, and vestibular evaluation including Video Head Impulse Test (vHIT), Videonystagmagraphy (VNG) Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMPs), and Electrocochleography (ECOG). May participate in student preceptorship and other advanced Audiologists duties.

  • Patient evaluation, interpretation of findings, and management (55%).

  • Advanced Audiologist duties (10%).

Qualifications

Education

\n
    \n
  • Master's Degree in Audiology (Required) and
  • \n
  • Doctorate Degree in Audiology (Preferred)
  • \n
\n

Work Experience

\n
    \n
  • experience in a medical setting with adult and pediatric patients, hearing aids, OAEs, ENGs, and evoked response audiometry (Preferred)
  • \n
\n

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

\n
    \n
  • Fundamental knowledge and the ability to apply the principles and practices related to Audiology, appropriate to the developmental/chronological age of patients on caseload. (Required proficiency)
  • \n
  • Exposure and familiarity with audiometric equipment including audiometers, audiometric booths, immittance bridges, otoacoustic emissions, VRA, (Required proficiency)
  • \n
\n

Licenses and Certifications

\n
    \n
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio to practice Audiology or awaiting Ohio Licensure in status of Licensure Applicant (Required) 
  • \n
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) (preferred)
  • \n
  • American Board of Audiology (ABA) Certification (Preferred)
  • \n
