About the Role

A premier luxury resort group is introducing a brand-new, ultra-luxurious spa experience, catering to high-end resort guests and exclusive luxury residential clientele. Featuring 10 treatment rooms, a co-ed hammam, cold plunge, wet sauna, dry sauna, salt room, and ice room, this spa will redefine wellness and relaxation in the Caribbean.

In addition to overseeing this flagship spa, the Area Director of Spa will be responsible for launching two new spa locations and managing one existing spa, ensuring a seamless luxury experience across all properties. This leader will develop a distinctive spa brand in collaboration with executive leadership and branding agencies.

We seek a visionary spa leader with luxury hospitality experience, a proven track record in opening and branding new spa concepts, and the ability to create world-class wellness experiences.

Position Summary

The Area Director of Spa will spearhead the development and launch of the luxury spa concept, oversee all spa operations, and establish five-star wellness standards across multiple resort properties. This role requires an expert in spa branding, luxury service development, operational management, and guest experience.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in luxury spa openings, the ability to curate signature treatments and experiences, and strong business and operational acumen to drive profitability and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Spa Concept, Brand Development & Opening Strategy

  • Create a unique luxury spa brand, defining its identity, positioning, and guest experience.
  • Develop signature treatments, wellness rituals, and holistic experiences tailored to the Caribbean and desert spa environments.
  • Oversee the spa opening process, including renovations, design, and operational setup.
  • Establish world-class service and operational standards to ensure consistency and excellence.

Multi-Property Spa Oversight

  • Oversee spa operations across multiple luxury resort properties, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
  • Implement standardized training programs, service guidelines, and operational procedures across all locations.
  • Collaborate with resort leadership, marketing, and wellness teams to ensure spa offerings align with the overall brand strategy.

Luxury Guest Experience & Service Standards

  • Ensure all spa services reflect the highest level of luxury, personalization, and wellness innovation.
  • Implement VIP and residential spa experiences, catering to high-net-worth clientele.
  • Develop and execute spa membership and loyalty programs for long-term guest engagement.
  • Maintain a strong focus on guest feedback, service enhancements, and wellness trends to continuously evolve the spa experience.

Financial & Business Management

  • Develop and manage P&L, budgets, and revenue strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Identify opportunities for retail expansion, membership programs, and exclusive wellness partnerships.
  • Establish KPIs and financial goals for all properties, ensuring sustainable growth and operational efficiency.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Recruit, train, and mentor spa directors, therapists, and wellness professionals across all properties.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure best-in-class service.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and guest-centric service among spa teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; certification in Spa Management or Wellness Leadership is an asset.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in luxury spa operations, including spa openings and brand development.
  • Proven track record in launching, managing, and elevating high-end spa brands.
  • Experience overseeing multi-property or complex resort spa operations.
  • Luxury hospitality background is required, with experience in five-star resorts or private wellness clubs.
  • Strong understanding of wellness trends, spa design, and high-end guest expectations.
  • Expertise in financial management, budgeting, and revenue generation strategies.
  • Spanish-speaking preferred but not required.
  • Strong leadership, training, and talent development skills.
