Your Primary Responsibilities - Executing in-depth patient evaluations, directing necessary diagnostic examinations, and crafting customized care strategies
- Diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, or chronic health conditions in conjunction with physicians or autonomously (as credentialing allows)
- Instructing patients and their families on preventative care, wellness strategies, and management of diseases
- Prescribing medications and therapies as permitted by practice scope
- Engaging in patient follow-up care and chronic disease management
- Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and seamless patient care
- Completing detailed and accurate documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)
Educational Requirements - Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Essential Certifications - Current Nurse Practitioner license in the District of Columbia
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or comparable specialty certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to procure within 90 days)
