Pay: $23-$25/hour depending on experience
Hours: Training: 7:00am-3:30pm (4-6 weeks on 1st shift) | 2nd Shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm | 40-45 hours per week | Overtime available
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a 2nd Shift Welder/Caster for a temp-to-hire position with a precision manufacturing company in Biddeford, Maine. This position offers a great opportunity for a candidate with TIG welding and casting experience to join a motivated, hands-on team. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and grow within the company, with long-term career potential. Training will begin on 1st shift and transition to 2nd after 4-6 weeks. This is a temp-to-hire position with quick hire potential for the right fit.
As a 2nd Shift Welder/Caster, you will be responsible for:
- Performing TIG welding and brazing operations on exotic metals
- Fabricating components using machine tools
- Operating manual mills or lathes for machining
- Troubleshooting welding and brazing issues during production
- Learning and assisting with casting processes
- Following all safety procedures and understanding emergency response protocols
- Understanding chemical reactions and properties used in the work area
- Handling and processing hazardous waste in accordance with training and policy
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of TIG welding experience with exotic metals (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of casting experience (required)
- Proficiency with power tools, measuring instruments, and mechanical tasks
- Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T principles and shop math
- Experience with machining (preferred)
- Strong attendance and punctuality, especially during the probationary period
- Fluent English for clear communication during training and daily tasks
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, stand for 10-hour shifts, bend, stoop, push, and pull
